Trains at Malaga Airport
There is a train service from Malaga Airport but it only goes as far as Fuengirola to the west. Eventually it will go all the way up to Puerto Banus but this is in a few yeaers.
If you are heading for Marbella you need to catch a bus, book a transfer or take a taxi. There are numerous works/building at Malaga Airport going on at the moment including building a new terminal and runway.
With all the building work things are changing all the time. To get to the train station there is a temporary bridge from near the AIrport. As you come out of the airport upstairs, there are clear signs where to go for the train..
Once the work is finished the new look Malaga Airport will have the platform within the main terminal building. You will also be able to catch trains to places like Seville direct from the airport.
At the moment though there are only two routes from the airport, one into the center of Malaga where you can catch connecting routes and another line that runs from the airport down to Fuengirola in the west.
Trains into Malaga City run every half hour from 07:09 through to 23:59. The trains from Malaga City to the Airport leave every half hour between 0540 and 2230.
The fares for the trains into Malaga City is between ?1.05 and ?1.15 depending on which day and time you travel.
Trains to Fuengirola run every 30 minutes from 05:54 through to 22:44. The trains from Fuengirola to the airport start at 06:36 and run through until 23:26.
The fares for this journey are between ?1.65 and ?1.85 depending on which day and times you travel.

From Malaga Airport to Torremolinos there are 5 stops. Takes around 10 minutes
From Malaga Airport to Benalmadena there are 8 stops. Takes around 17 minutes
From Malaga Airport to Fuengirola there are 13 stops. Takes around 35 minutes.
These are just 3 of the most popular stops but there are 24 local stops altogether, going the other direction to, like to Pizarra, Alora, Cartama etc.
If you go to Malaga Renfe at Vialia Shopping which is just 4 stops from Malaga Airport Station, then you could go all the way to Madrid or even Barcelona by Train.
In a few years when all the building work is complete, Malaga Airport will be fantastic and will be so easy to get to other places within Spain.
